Comments on BB101

UPDATE: We’ve had to close comments for all posts older than one month. Too many spam comments were coming through on the older posts. However, you can still always contact us via bloggingbasics101 AT gmail DOT com. We’d love to hear from you.

*****

Until now we have had the comments turned off on BB101. We
actually have many reasons for this including the following:

  • We were already inundated with questions and sifting through comments to find the questions took too much time.
  • There are many ways to do something (e.g., putting a strike through words) depending on your blogging platform or your knowledge of HTML. We didn’t want the comments to become a debating ground for the right or wrong way of doing something.
  • In that same vein, this is supposed to be a site that addresses the basics of doing things. Sometimes we have people write to us with very high-level responses of how to accomplish something. Our goal is not to intimidate our visitors, but introduce them as gently as possible into the world of blogging. We don’t want to scare anyone off with over-the-top explanations and instructions. Please keep this in mind.
  • We just don’t have time to respond to all the e-mail generated (as much as we’d love to!).

However, we’re reconsidering our "no comments" decision and are going to
try opening comments to see how things go.

Please keep in mind, though, that the best way to have a
question answered is to email us directly at bloggingbasics101atgmaildotcom.
That way your question won’t be lost in the comments never to be seen again.

Thanks!

My comment is simple. I just want to thank you girls. No matter how long you’ve been blogging, there are new things to learn. In my case, you made at least two things I’d struggled with forever amazingly simple. And I thank you for that. This is a great website and you’re all doing an amazing job with it.
