I was wondering about using photos on my blog. I am new to blooging and i see lots of blogs with pictures from magazines and links to books they love. Do you need the publishers permission, say if you are posting about a favourite book and want to link to it on amazon?

I use copyscape and have a creative commons (the one with the most restrictions) on my blog and I often wonder if I'm contradicting myself. Basically, I don't want someone using my content -- any part of it -- without crediting me.
