I agree with the selling point, you can't try to ram something down people's throats, you need to establish your credibility first, and then they will trust you. Also, I'm surprised nobody covered adsense when talking about ads on your site. Many, many blogs use adsense, and I'm sure do quite well with it. Very informative.
