If you are coming to BlogHer09 this summer in Chicago, I hope we’ll meet! This will be my third year to attend BlogHer and I’m here to tell you it’s the place to find your blogging mojo, meet other women bloggers, and have a great time doing it.
Last year I presented on the panel How We Communicate: FAQs for Beginning Bloggers and it was so much fun. I loved meeting my co-presenters and I loved meeting everyone who attended the session! This year I’ve thrown my hat in the ring to co-present a session of the Geek Lab with my friend Michelle from Scribbit. I hope you’ll consider coming!
Wait. What’s the Geek Lab you say? Well, it’s a room especially for geeking out at BlogHer. It’s for anyone who wants to learn more about basic, intermediate, or advanced blogging and the code behind it. Not interested in coding? Don’t worry, there’s still something for you. In particular, if you’re a beginning blogger or wannabe blogger (but just haven’t quite started yet), I’m proposing a Geek Lab course just for you called Blogging Basics 101: Where Do I Even Start? My passion is sitting down with you, teaching you something new, and getting you up and running. That’s what my session is all about.
If you are interested in attending Blogging Basics 101: Where Do I Even Start? please visit the link. At the top of that page, just under the title, you’ll see two links: “I would be interested in presenting on this topic” and “I would attend this session”. Please click the “I would attend this session” link. You’re not obligated to attend, but it will help me by showing BlogHer that people are definitely interested in a beginner track. Right now my plan for BlogHer09 is to spend most of my time in the Geek Lab helping as many people as I can. I probably won’t be attending too many of the regular sessions. If I’m not helping someone, I’ll be trying to learn as much as I can from the other experts.

I have to tell you, I was VERY excited to see this topic pop up in Geek Labs. I couldn’t vote for it fast enough.

FYI: You have to be logged in to see the links about wanting to attend or present. And once you click on those the first time, it will then say “I would not like to attend” or “I would not like to present”, so you can change your mind if you want. Not that any of you would about this wonderful session
