Blogging Basics 101 on Tumblr

by Melanie Nelson on January 7, 2010 · 2 comments

When I do them, the Friday Helpful Blogging Links are some of my most popular posts. I’ve had people tell me they look forward to that weekly feature. To come up with those weekly links, I used to just save links from my reader and randomly select three to five to share each week. The result is that some of the link are new and some are a bit dated (but still offer relevant information).

A few weeks ago, I researched Tumblr for an article on mini- (or micro-) blogging. I created an account for Blogging Basics 101 and I started using it. What am I using it for?

So, if you love the Helpful Blogging Links feature at Blogging Basics 101, might I suggest that you visit and subscribe to the Blogging Basics 101 Tumblr account? I’ll still post a few links here every Friday, but if you want to know what I’m reading every day, Tumblr’s the place you’ll find it. I’m adding about 10 or more links to the Tumblr blog every day.

If you’re using Tumblr, Posterous, or another mini-blogging platform, please feel free to tell us about it in the comments and leave a link to your account. Unless you’ve commented before, your link may be held for approval. I won’t be approving any NSFW links.

Hi Melanie, I’ve been blogging since 2004 (withpurpose.com), but just recently started lifestreaming at Posterous to post tidbits I’ve collected about things I love: design, homeschooling, organization, home management, parenting and other random cool stuff. I’m just getting started but like you, hope to keep it fresh and updated. Fun!

Thank you. It was from your previous post that I got started with Tumblr to use it to bookmark things found on the www. I see so many wonderful crafts that this has been a very good way for me to start keeping track of where to find them when my creative juices are flowing. Thanks again,
Nancy
