Thanks to Jordan McCollum at MamaBlogga for this answer. The problem here is that when you type the link, you MUST include the "http://" part. Otherwise, the browser thinks it’s a "local link" (i.e., a link leading to a page on your own site). Just add the "http://" in front of www.chilitried.com.
