This is a great question for a Friday. It’s easy to answer and easy to implement.
- Log in to Blogger.
- Go to Layout > Template > Page Elements.
- Click Add a Page Element.
- Scroll down until you see Blog Archives and click the Add to Blog button under it.
- Click Save.
That’s it. No kidding. You’re a rock star.
If you want to customize how your archives are shown just click the Edit link on your Blog Archive page element. You’ll see a whole slew of stuff you can play with.

Okay, I must be the idiot. I cannot find any of the Layout or Page Element on either my blog or the blogger (which takes me to my Dashboard). What am I missing? Do I actually need to upgrade my template to get these features? (And I’m assuming by link, you are saying that by making this change, I’m going to make my archives a drop box. If my thinking is all wrong, you’re more than welcome to straighten me out… as usual.)
Thanks Melanie!
