  1. The most important part in this process is that you make sure your Google profile and your website are linked up correctly. If you meet the other criteria, but you haven’t received an email or access to the vanity URLS, it’s probably because there’s a problem with your Google authorship markup.

I’ve created a quick guide for anyone who is using WordPress on our site. It should be linked bellow via CommentLuv. 🙂

  2. good quick pointer there; I already submitted my preferred vanity id. They wouldn’t give me mr.midway so i requested mistermidway as a lot of people know me by that name and it is how i sign my blog posts. Take care, max

It may be that they’re rolling this feature out in waves. However, that’s the only case I’ve heard of where someone had trouble. I think most people are getting theirs just fine.

    1. Laura,

You should try to claim your name on all social media platforms. It not only helps with branding, it makes it really easy for people to find you when the name is the same across all platforms. Sometimes you can’t get what you want/need and you have to improvise a little.

My name is very common so I have to be quick. 🙂
